Vacuum Mart Products


KJLC produces more than 1,200 electrical, liquid and gas, motion and optical feedthroughs in a variety of terminations, maximum voltages, and current carrying capacities. A cross-reference table with the part number of two OEMs followed by the equivalent KJLC part number has been provided to help customers select the right part, but as with any product in our catalog, our experienced customer service representatives would be more than happy to assist you. All feedthroughs can be purchased on our website or by contacting our sales department. Many are available for immediate or short term shipping.

Flanges & Components

KJLC supplies a complete range of flanges and flanged components such as nipples, elbows, tees, crosses, flex bellows, glass-metal seals, quick couplings, viewports, etc. in all standard vacuum flange systems. KJLC also provides copper gaskets and o-ring gaskets, nut/bolt hardware, tube fittings, gaskets, and vacuum couplings, many of which are available for immediate shipment to eliminate downtime in your production line or research facility.

Vacuum Valves

The Kurt J. Lesker Company supplies valve solutions for semiconductor processes, industrial vacuum, HV, UHV, and R&D applications, We have the most diverse offering of valve types including: automated conductance control; rectangular and circular gate valves; and door, angle, inline and butterfly valves—many available in both stainless steel and aluminum materials.

Manipulation & Motion

KJLC features multiple devices required for sample manipulation: motion feedthroughs, sample transfer, translation devices, XYZ manipulation, Z-only manipulation, sample rotation, rotary drives, linear drives, and wobble sticks, each helping to mechanically move an object inside a vacuum chamber. Such devices provide precise, repeatable movement or coarse positioning using rotary motion, linear motion, or a combination of both.

Vacuum Fluids

KJLC has a history of over 40 years experience manufacturing hydrocarbon vacuum fluids, greases and lubricants of all grades and viscosities. We recently introduced our new semi-synthetic hydrocarbon oil with superior chemical stability and performance. An anti-oxidation additive extends the useful life of the oil, which, with its low vapor pressure, makes this oil the ideal choice for a variety of applications. Another highlight in this segment is our exclusive partnership with Solvay Specialty Polymers, bringing their successful Fomblin® and Galden® fluids and greases to our stable of top quality oils.

Vacuum Pumps

KJLC makes it easy to find the right product. Since some customers shop by ‘brand loyalty’ while others choose on price/performance alone, we have listed our pumps for easy access using either approach.

Traps & Filters

The Vacuum Mart Division offers a full range of traps, filters, and abatement systems required to protect the vacuum chamber from vapors produced by the pumps. These devices also protect the pumps from gases and particulates originating in the chamber, and protect people and the atmosphere from materials in both pumps and chamber. Customers can select foreline traps, system traps, mist eliminators, oil filtration units, and complete exhaust gas abatement systems, as well as a reclaim service for expensive vacuum fluids trapped in contaminated oil filters.

Pressure Measurement

KJLC offers a full line of gauges and gauge controllers, including convection, thermocouple (T/C), Pirani, diaphragm and capacitance manometers, hot and cold cathode gauges,leak detectors, and all ancillary inlet systems, replacement parts, and filaments. Most items can be purchased online, including those with a complex option list, since KJLC features ‘configurators’ to help select the exact option list and automatically build the part number and price.

Gas & Liquid Mgmt

Because modern vacuum processes require regulated gas flows, calibrated helium leaks, cooling water, liquid nitrogen, compressed air for pneumatic valve operations, and other considerations, KJLC’s Gas/Liquid Management line carries all necessary valves, flow regulators, plastic tubing, and compressed air fittings.

Deposition Materials

Ceramic Materials Manufacturing (CMM) Division

KJLC’s Ceramic Materials Manufacturing (CMM) Division manufactures advanced metal oxide ceramic materials for applications such as: the storage of energy and information, energy conversion, optics and electronics, as well as for a number of cutting-edge technologies on the horizon. Used in a variety of thin film physical vapor deposition (PVD) processes such as sputtering, laser ablation and evaporation; these materials also can be packaged as inks, suspensions, and slurries to make in non-vacuum coatings for printed electronics and as fine chemicals for end users who do their own bulk ceramic fabrication. What sets CMM apart is the willingness and ability to be a true partner in your research. CMM is helping researchers build a better tomorrow.

Evaporation Pellets, Pieces, & Wire

In addition to supplying materials used in sputtering applications, we also serve a large number of customers who utilize evaporation techniques to deposit thin films. We currently stock a wide variety of evaporation materials in various sizes, shapes and quantities, available for immediate shipment. The range of materials offered is extensive, including pure metals, precious metals, standard alloys, oxides, nitrides, and fluorides. The materials can be packaged for the small quantity user, as well as for the large volume production customer.

Sputtering Targets

Our comprehensive offering of sputtering targets, evaporation sources and other deposition materials is listed by material throughout the website. Budgetary pricing for sputtering targets and deposition materials per your requirementsare available, but actual prices may vary due to market fluctuations. Precious metal pricing, as with our evaporation offering, is locked in at the time of order placement,taking the guesswork out of precious metal purchases.

KJLC enables customers to select a heater shape that best matches the substrate’s area requirements and the characteristics or form of material to be heated. Filament sources can occasionally be used when heating the same material multiple times.

Thermal Boat Sources

The Materials division enables customers to select a heater shape that best matches the substrate’s area requirements and the characteristics or form of material to be heated. We offer these in molybdenum, tantalum, tungsten and a myriad of other materials. Boat sources can occasionally be used when heating the same material multiple times.

Thermal Box Sources

Lesker enables customers to select a heater shape that best matches the substrate’s area requirements and the characteristics or form of material to be heated. Thermal box sources can occasionally be used when heating the same material multiple times.Select tantalum baffle box and the appropriate baffle cover per application.

Thermal Rod Sources

These products help to produce thin films of chromium by evaporation for the electronics and optics industries. They represent several advantages over chromium chips, including good thermal efficiency, better regulation of film thickness, elimination of spalling, and a 99.9% pure chromium composition.

Crucibles & Crucible Heaters

Intermetallic crucibles, a proven reliable choice for thermal evaporation of aluminum, are available through KJLC. Due to the wetting characteristics of liquid aluminum, taller crucibles help inhibit material spillover by maintaining a cool lip around the top while also extending the life of both the crucible and crucible heater. Thin films of titanium also can be evaporated from intermetallic crucibles. Film thickness may be limited to 500Å. The crucible may need to be replaced for each subsequent run

Target Bonding

KJLC remains a leader in target bonding technology. Our in-house service allows the Materials Division to serve our customers more quickly and ensure a quality bond every time.Indium – the preferred material for bonding sputtering targets due to its superior thermal conductivity and efficiency in drawing heat away from the target – also is more malleable and forgiving than other solders. Certain applications may require an alternative optionsuch as elastomer bonding or different backing materials. The Kurt J Lesker Company has used its extensive experience in making vacuum chambers and combined it with VacuCADSM, the online drawings package, to bring you the Chamber Builder™. This allows YOU to be in control of the design at a price that is right.

Pre-Engineered Vacuum Chambers

Developed from our experience of manufacturing chambers for our customers, our standard range of vacuum chambers now offers a variety of configurations and sizes to help fit the needs of our customer.Standard spherical chambers are held in stock, as are blank box chambers and hemispheres for modified versions. This allows for rapid delivery through our dedicated manufacturing cells. Most of our standard chambers can be modified on our online Chamber Builder™.

Custom Vacuum Chambers

Aluminum Vacuum Chambers

The Kurt J Lesker Company® is now manufacturing Aluminum chambers for high and ultra high vacuum applications in house. Chambers can be manufactured from 5000 and 6000 Series Aluminum. Aluminum is used in a variety of applications, where its magnetic permeability, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, reduced weight and rapid decay of induced radioactivity make it the material of choice.

Water-Cooling Capabilities

Water cooling is required when equipment is being heated beyond the temperature limits of the seals and material of construction and to ensure a safe environment for those working with the equipment.We have extensive experience of managing projects where temperature control has been critical to the success of a project.

Process Equipment

Thin Film Deposition Systems

KJLC remains a leader in the manufacture of fully integrated vacuum systems. We offer single chamber deposition systems or cluster tools with robotic transfer for production and research applications. Extensive knowledge of process, application, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering help KJLC to be your primary supplier of vacuum deposition equipment. Having supplied more than 1,600 systems to nearly 900 customers worldwide, we have built a reputation and standard of excellence as a thin-film vacuum deposition system manufacturer.

TORUS® Magnetron Sputtering Cathodes

The Kurt J. Lesker Company started producing the TORUS® magnetron sputtering cathode line in the early 1980s. Nearly three decades later we have a comprehensive product offering to address nearly any sputtering application. Magnetron sputtering cathodes allow deposition of virtually any target material and can be driven with RF, DC, and Pulsed DC power supplies

Custom Vacuum Chambers

KJLC is proud to offer Isoflux hollow cathode magnetron technology – a proven and proprietary line of standard and customized cylindrical magnetrons. Ideally suited to coat complex, 3 dimensional shapes, wires, fibers, and many other substrates, the inverted magnetron design is considerably more efficient than planar magnetrons. Hollow Cathode magnetrons offer extremely high deposition rates along with excellent target utilization.

Thermal Evaporation Sources

Thermal evaporation sources include components that evaporate the base material through the use of resistive filaments, boats, boxes, and rods. Current is stopped by resistance in the source and the generated heat is used to evaporate the intended coating material. Typical configurations include two electrical feedthroughs with a refractory metal source mounted between them. KJLC®offers various types of evaporation sources, including multi-source flange-mounted thermal evaporators, single-source flange-mounted evaporators, and point source evaporation sources (for controlled, low temperature organic material evaporation).

Power Supplies

Power supplies are components that drive other vacuum system components such as deposition sources and heaters. KJLC® offers two major categories of power supplies: RF & DC, for various applications.

System Components

System components are components that are integral parts of a typical vacuum system. They include load locks for transferring samples from atmosphere into the vacuum envelope, fast entry doors for easy access to the vacuum envelope, substrate distribution equipment for multi-chamber (cluster tool) applications, and substrate heating components.

Deposition Monitors & Controllers

The thickness of a deposited film is often a critical component to obtain desired film performance. Quartz crystal monitors are utilized to monitor or control film thickness during deposition. KJLC offers a variety of options, covering everything from simple monitoring of a single film to controlling complex co-deposition.
